You know something; this is a very provocative post. So, any person who has been living and working outside his country for most of his life, has no right to come back and contribute to his country in any way?
Are you suggesting that those who live abroad should not be allowed to vote? Should not be allowed to run for any office? Or should not be allowed to contribute to their country as they see fit?
Don't they have families in Egypt, don't they send money to Egypt, and don’t they have a citizenship and represent their country abroad?
Please get a prospective.
And on the other hand, does any body who has been living in Egypt all his life have an Automatic right to run for office or elect, just because he has been living more in teh country. The person living abroad might (and most probably) have more experience more ideas and fresh solutions and knowledge of the outside world. I am sorry. You are wrong in this post, just my humble opinion.
I am sorry I use English, but I have no access to an Arabic Keyboard, and websased keyboards are to cumbersome to use.
I still think you are missing the point thought. The point is to actually have presidents who can actually leave the presidency ALIVE.
The point is to have presidents who run for a term or a maximum of two and then go home to become former presidents. That is it.
I am not saying al-Baradey is a hero or that he is better or worse than Mubarak. No. Even if they bring an insider of the regime to become president. I just want free elections, a max of two terms per president as per the consitution and that is it.
Changing Mubarak himself is a win, even if it brings someone worse, let us for once have an ex president. Not just DEAD presidents.
Baradie stood up against the US when attacking Iraq on the basis that they had weapons of mass destruction, Baradie since 2008 tried to change several articles in the constitution, his only problem for me is that he isn't charismatic, not very good in debates. the issue of him living most of his life abroad has nothing to do with his patriotism to his country, i am sure he is one of the top figures that have made Egypt proud.

Gemy,
